Its almost a new year, and boy am I ready. Not that this one didn't treat me very well. I have much to be thankful for, but this was definitely one of those learning years. I learned about friendships, makeups and breakups, and mixups, triumphs and defeats.

2009 was an unexpected crash for many in Las Vegas, and for those of us still hanging on we are all so very lucky. Lets hope and pray that the new year brings all of us in the world some sense of peace, stability, and financial comeback. Support your local businesses, and get involved in your community. Its the only way to really make this community come back. Support small and local! Opt out of buying only online and get out and support the local shops. We all need the business this season. And GIVE BACK!!!

I was blessed this past month with a personal tour of Opportunity Village behind the scenes, and WOW...I had no idea what I was in for. I started out in tears as we walked through the severely profound area of the campus and continued through the halls of this HUGE compound. My tears of sadness had turned to tears of joy by the end of my time at Opportunity Village. What an amazing program we have available in Vegas! I am in awe at the number of people assisted by Opportunity Village. The sense of pride in the workers is amazing, and how cool that there is a way for these people to connect with each other. The Cupcakery Las Vegas is proud to be a supporter of Opportunity Village. Thank you Stacey Howard and Linda Smith for opening my eyes to what you do!!! You are a blessing to Vegas. 2010 is going to be a crazy one for Cupcakery Las Vegas. The Cupcakery Monte Carlo(the hotel not the principality) is opening any day, which is just HUGE for us. Its our first casino location. WOOHOO!!! PLEASE HEAD DOWN TO MC TO SUPPORT THE CAUSE!!! I will post pics from opening day.
